We use freezer bags and wrap it in butcher paper. There are other methods for packaging but this is the method we prefer.
Use FREEZER bags-not STORAGE bags. The meat life is longer, they are created to go in the freezer and they are built better. Use freezer paper and freezer tape-these products work the best and were created for this process.
The freezer bags can be purchased anywhere and the paper and tape can be purchased at a farm store. We use a paper dispenser that was intended to be used for auto body work. It is heavy duty and does not move around when you rip paper off of it. It has a handy tape holder on it and you can place items on top of it.
We use a Sharpie pen.
